A thought for a new week:
One of my favorite conversations in therapy is exploring goals and values.
Goals are the challenges we pursue to grow and to measure our progress. Values are the moments and rituals that bring us meaning and purpose.
Sometimes our goals and values work together but often our focus on the destination causes us to lose sight of the moments along the way. Often, the life we desire for the future distracts us from living the life we have right now.
If you know this feeling, challenge yourself this week to be more present, to keep your goals in mind but your focus on the things you value each day.
And as ever, notice what changes.
